The Strathmore District Health Services Auxiliary proudly awarded nine $1,000 bursaries to Wheatland County students pursuing post-secondary education in health-related fields this past year — and the 2026 bursary program is NOW OPEN.
From nursing and paramedicine to medical sciences, therapy programs, and beyond, these bursaries are designed to support local students chasing big goals in healthcare while giving back to the future of rural communities.
The Auxiliary has been a long-time supporter of healthcare in our region, helping fund hospital equipment, patient care initiatives, and community health services through local fundraising and volunteer efforts. Their mission has always been simple: support better healthcare close to home.
If you’re a Wheatland County student heading into a health-related field, keep an eye out for the 2026 application intake. A little support can go a long way when you’re building a future that helps others.

Entering his second year of the Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus.

Registered Nurse in Strathmore Health Services, is entering her third year of Nurse Practitioner through the University of Athabasca.
MEGHAN FLAWS, STRATHMORE
Enrolled in her first year of a four year program working toward a Master of Psychology Degree at the University of British Columbia.
TARYN PHILLIPS, STRATHMORE
Enrolled in her first year of a four year program working toward a Master of Psychology Degree at the University of British Columbia.

Enrolled at Mount Royal University, in her first year of a four year program pursuant to receiving a degree in Psychology
